Born in Corsica in the city of Bastia, Alexandre Biaggi was intrigued by the antique world from a young age because of his father’s passion for marine archaeology and antique furniture.
After receiving a Master’s in Law in Paris, he obtained a diploma in auctioneer studies. He discovered XXth century furniture and the art market at the Hotel Drouot. Increasingly drawn to the antique dealer profession, he started out at the Saint-Ouen Flea market before opening his own antique shop at 54 rue Jacob in Paris, where he specialised in the decorative arts – specifically the 1920 to 1950 era, though keeping a certain eclecticism.
Since 1996 his gallery has been at 14, rue de Seine in Paris, where he deals in the works of noted XXth century decorators, provides consultation services as a decorator, and creates his own designs inspired by the aesthetic of the age.
