Founded in 2013 by Céline Marcato, Gate 5 is specialized in Historical Italian Design and promotes Contemporary Design projects as well.
The research in historical design covers the three periods of Italian Modern Design history; the 30-50s, years that establish the fundamentals of Italian design, the 50-60s called Modernism and 70s post-Modernist period of Radical Design.
The gallery is well reputed for its collection of unique and rare pieces that makes it present in the most important international fairs with recognition of the jury for the selection of the masterpieces.
In parallel, Gate 5 develops contemporary projects in collaboration with designers and curators from the art world creating and developing exclusive collections on specific thematics. That is why Gate 5, which offices are located in Monaco, is blurring the way in which Design Gallery work and to develop projects by organizing shows in private houses, promoting pieces at international fairs and collaborating closely with renowned architects and interior design studios and with other art galleries.
Gate 5 works between interiors and site-specific design providing consultancy and assistance in building contemporary interiors.
